Terms of Service
Reference translation. The Korean version of this document is the
authoritative text. If the two differ in meaning, the Korean version prevails.
Effective date: (to be confirmed after legal review)
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using "Pilltree" (the
"Service"), a medication management application provided by Pilltree (the
"Company"), and the rights and obligations of the Company and its users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "User" means a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- "Caregiver" means a user who registers and checks medication on behalf of
another person, such as a family member.
- "Senior" means the person whose medication a Caregiver has registered.
- "Self user" means a user who registers and checks their own medication.
Article 3 (Nature of the Service — Important)
- The Service is not a medical device and does not provide medical care.
- The Service provides reminders and records for a medication schedule that
the user has entered and confirmed themselves.
- The Service does not do any of the following:
- Recommend or instruct changes to a prescription, such as stopping or
increasing a dose
- Judge whether medications are safe to take together
- Determine a causal relationship between a symptom and a medication
- Substitute for diagnosis or medical consultation
- If you need any judgment relating to medication, **consult the hospital or
pharmacy that issued the prescription.**
- Reminders are an aid only and may fail to arrive due to device, network, or
operating system conditions. The Company does not guarantee delivery of
reminders.
Article 4 (Accounts)
- Sign-in uses an emailed verification code; no password is created.
- A Senior's device is connected through a Caregiver's invitation and can be
used without creating a separate account.
- A user may not transfer their account to anyone else.
Article 5 (Family Connection and Information Sharing)
- A Caregiver can see a Senior's medication schedule and whether a dose has been
checked in.
- The Senior consents to this sharing at the moment they accept the connection.
- A Caregiver cannot enter a check-in on the Senior's behalf.
Article 6 (User Obligations)
- Users must enter accurate medication information. Even when using the result
of photo recognition, final confirmation is the user's responsibility.
- Users must not enter another person's personal data without authority.
Article 7 (Fees)
- All features of the Service are currently provided free of charge.
- If paid features are introduced, we will give notice in advance and will not
charge existing users without their consent.
Article 8 (Suspension of the Service)
The Company may suspend the Service temporarily for system maintenance, faults,
force majeure, or similar reasons, and will give advance notice so far as
practicable.
Article 9 (Account Deletion)
- Users may delete their account at any time from the settings in the app.
- On deletion, the account and the user's information are destroyed. This
cannot be undone.
- Among the Seniors a user has registered, **records of a person who is also
cared for by other family members remain.** Those records belong to the
remaining family as well. Only the connection between the departing user and
that Senior is removed.
- Records of a Senior with no other caregiver are destroyed together with the
account.
Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)
Because the Company provides no medical judgment (Article 3), it bears no
liability, to the extent permitted by law, for whether a user takes medication or
for the outcome of doing so. This does not apply to damage caused by the
Company's intent or gross negligence.
